What we at the TVECA hear most from media and legislative bodies is that "no one knows what is in the electronic cigarette". This is a false accusation as the e-cig industry and non-industry affiliated laboratories have done extensive testing on the e-cig and in not one test (inclusive of the FDA's own May 4th 2009) has there ever been found a single ingredient or toxin in any sample that is harmful to humans. Below are referenced laboratory tests on the electronic cigarette:
